By registering as a member with PIER Helmholtz Graduate School (PHGS) you acknowledge that PHGS stores
your personal information for membership management purposes. The collected data includes
personal information (address and contact information, date of birth, nationality, photo), personal data,
student data (proof of enrolment), research group and corresponding PIER research field as well as supervisors,
information on student status, supervision agreement, annual reports of the doctorate, information and
evidence on attended events to be credited under the PHGS curriculum.
The data is stored for the duration of the membership in the database and is available to the PHGS.
According to § 15 DSGVO you are entitled at any time to ask the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School for comprehensive information
on the data stored about your person. Pursuant to § 16-20 GDPR you can at any time ask PIER Helmholtz Graduate School
for the correction, deletion and blocking of individual personal data at graduateschool@pier-hamburg.de.
The personal data is stored for the duration of the membership and furthermore until 10 years after the PhD defense.
The date of the defense has to be submitted by the member to PHGS within the database.
The supervisory authority is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Information.
